The time in-between holidays can be one of uncertainty around food. There are often many parties and functions to attend with lots of temptations which could potentially throw you off your healthy eating plan.

Instead of trying to navigate each one independently, put a plan into action to cover your bases no matter what type of situation you’re faced with this holiday season.

Create Your Plan

This type of plan is called a Reset, and there are several ways you can do one. We recommend signing up for the Pure Reset Diet because it is a fully-formatted plan with recipes and shopping lists to help you get started and stay on course. You can also create a Reset plan with your own guidelines if you’d like.

We typically recommend following a Reset plan for 30 days to benefit the most from the experience. However, during this holiday season, it’s not a bad idea to do a shorter version of a Reset in an effort to reestablish a healthy relationship with your food choices, and to gain improved health.

To recap from previous posts, creating a healthy relationship with food is our number one goal. We want you to find your healthiest way to eat, which makes you feel your best. We don’t try to label food as good or bad, but instead we want you to make a decision about a particular food whether or not it provides you the nutrition and well-being you’re looking for.

You’re in Control

However, for a Reset period, we do recommend eliminating certain foods which are typically shown to be problematic for digestion, blood sugar, and inflammation.

These foods include

  • dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt, ice cream)
  • grain products (gluten, wheat, rye, oats, rice, etc.)
  • added sugar (artificial sweeteners, cane sugar, maple syrup, honey).

When you eliminate these foods from your daily diet, you allow your body the chance to reset itself. Without the bombardment of inflammatory foods, your digestion issues can clear up, your blood sugar can regulate itself better, and your overall systemic inflammation will be reduced, which will also help reduce other issues. Joint pain, blood pressure, chronic pain, and skin conditions, such as psoriasis and acne, have all been linked to inflammation.

Reap the Benefits

By utilizing a reset plan where you create some boundaries around your food choices, not only will you be better able to navigate the food buffet at upcoming events, but you’ll also improve your overall health and well-being, which lends itself to staying on track with a healthy eating plan. So go ahead, Reset yourself and reap the healthy benefits.
