You’ve no doubt heard by now that kale is good for you. It’s truly a nutrition powerhouse, packed with tons of fiber, B vitamins, and minerals like manganese, copper, and potassium. Additionally, it’s one of the highest sources of vitamin K, which is known for regulating our inflammatory response. And surprisingly, kale also contains omega-3 fats and some protein.

Kale is our favorite food to make our green smoothies green, but it’s also delicious steamed. Try the recipe below and let us know what you think!

Garlic and Lemon Steamed Kalekale-852033_1280

1 lb kale
2 cloves garlic
1 lemon, juiced
2 tbsp olive oil
Sea salt

Chop kale into 1/2”pieces, and mince the garlic. Allow to sit while you’re preparing everything else. Fill a saucepan with 1 cup water and place a steamer basket inside. Cover and bring to a boil. Add the kale to the basket and allow to steam for five minutes. While kale is steaming, combine the minced garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, and sea salt. Transfer kale to a serving dish, and toss with the mixture while the kale is still hotEnjoy!
