Not just an annoying weed, I promise!

Dandelions are actually completely safe and healthy to consume – whole, boiled, or blended. They are nutrition powerhouses and help the body detox in a few different ways.

First, the nutrients contained in dandelions help cleanse the liver and keep it working properly, especially the flow of bile.

Second, they are rich in Vitamin C which reduces inflammation.

Third, the antioxidant properties of dandelions keep our cells safe from free radicals and oxidation.

Dandelions offer so many other benefits, including balancing blood sugar, preventing urinary tract infections, and fighting skin infections.

I love @tradmedicinals Roasted Dandelion Root, but you can certainly make your own.

Pick a large bunch of dandelions from your yard.* Wash, then steep the roots, stem, and flowers in boiling water for 30 minutes. Strain and enjoy with a bit of honey or a pinch of Stevia to taste. ~ Kristin Stephens, MS, NTP

*Please note: we don’t recommend consuming dandelions which have been treated with chemicals.
